Meet Mike Capka
Mike Capka writes character-driven international thrillers that explore what faith looks like when it is lived out in complex, dangerous, and deeply human situations—where grace, justice, love, humor, family, and sacrifice intersect in the middle of real-world crises.
His debut series, The Mercy Caravan – Mitch James Series, invites readers into the beauty and challenges of Southeast Asia, particularly the Philippines, honoring the people who live and serve there while wrestling honestly with faith, danger, and the cost of choosing what is right.
Capka draws from his years living and working in the Philippines as a missionary and program leader in Davao City, where he partnered with schools, corporate sponsors, and community organizations to develop youth adventure and values programs. He is married to his Filipina wife, Ayrin, and their life remains deeply connected to the Philippines through family, long-standing friendships, and time spent on Samal Island. He is conversational in Cebuano (Bisaya) and Tagalog.
Now based in Spokane, Washington, Capka has spent the last fifteen years working in the business of travel, entertainment, and sports, while remaining deeply involved in coaching youth sports and serving within his local church community. His stories are shaped by a love for people, place, and the belief that faith—when lived honestly—often demands courage, humility, and costly grace.
